The £75m project to transform the former Scotland Yard HQ of the Metropolitan Police into a five star hotel in London is now complete.
London developer Galliard Group has spent the last three and a half years converting the historic building into a new luxury 153-bedroom hotel after acquiring a 125-year Crown Estate lease, which was exchanged for a forward sale of the hotel when completed to Abu Dhabi based LuLu Group International in 2016 for £110m. The Great Scotland Yard Hotel will open later this year and will be operated by Hyatt.
Hotel features include interior design references to the building’s police and military past through the use of shields, emblems and historic details etched into glass and metalwork.
Fitzroy of London was commissioned to create a bathroom range that whilst adhering to important regulations, perfectly enhanced the project, complementing the metal finishes and continuing with the references to the building’s police and military past.
